The stock E30 differential cover features a single mounting provision—fine for a stock M20, but guaranteed to fail on your boosted high-horsepower M5X build. After years of broken covers, mounting tabs, and dreams, our team of E30 enthusiasts engineered the ultimate fix.

Unlike the brittle OEM cast aluminum cover, our upgraded differential cover is CNC-machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum, offering a 30% increase in material strength alone. More importantly, a secondary mounting ear has been integrated into the design for added support, drastically improving stability and driveline shock absorption. The secondary mount is tied into the chassis using a reinforced sheet metal bracket and a billet aluminum plate, allowing for bolt-on installation or welding for ultimate rigidity.

Another major flaw of the factory E30 differential cover is its lack of any cooling provisions, leading to overheated fluid and premature wear. Our engineers solved this issue by incorporating advanced cooling features into the design. Large external fins have been added to the cover, and are optimized using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis to efficiently dissipate heat, reducing overall fluid temperatures. By maintaining a more stable differential temperature, this cover ensures consistent performance and extends the lifespan of your differential fluid. A built-in air duct assists in cooling by increasing airflow around the differential, further preventing heat-related failures. Our cover features optional -6AN fittings, allowing for easy integration of an external fluid cooler if desired. Finally, a 1/8 NPT port is included with the kit to ensure compatibility with fluid temperature monitoring systems.

Despite its robust construction and superior durability, this differential cover retains factory mounting features. This means any E30 188mm differential cover bushing can be installed, allowing you to tailor our upgraded cover to your build. This diff cover is cool, literally, the entire construction was designed with optimized cooling in mind. External fins are strategically placed on the rear face, bottom, and between the mounting ears of the cover, serving as effective heat sinks for optimal heat dissipation. This ensures stable temperatures, promoting longevity for both the fluid and your differential. Additionally, the internal design ensures continuous oiling and lubrication to the ring gear, maintaining its stability and preventing fatigue by controlling heat more effectively. An internal baffle at the cover's corner helps maintain proper pressure and prevents cavitation.

All of the OEM features were retained along with the upgrades. The mounting surface was designed to be compatible with both the OEM gasket or RTV of your choosing, some people don't trust the gaskets and we get it. You can transfer your speed sensor directly to your upgraded billet cover and it even features a provision for the sensor wire mounting. Factory bushing geometry allows you to use any E36 diff busing including rubber, poly, and even solid mounts. The drain and fill plugs on the diff cover are upgraded to -6AN using the provided high-pressure fittings with replaceable o-rings. The drain and fill plugs can now also be used for expanding to an external oil cooler allowing you to further expand the fluid capacity for optimized cooling and service intervals. To keep an eye on things from the driver seat is 1/8 NPT provision for temp sensors, this product from Turner has you covered at every turn.

Why the upgrade?

If you're new to differential covers used in earlier generations like the E30, you'll find significant improvements in the OEM E36 cover. Unlike the E30's single mount design, the E36 features a dual mount design, which was introduced to address common issues such as broken mounts due to worn-out bushings and aggressive driving. This upgrade significantly enhanced durability and reliability.

While the factory E36 differential cover was a significant improvement with its dual mounts compared to the previous generation, there are still some shortcomings that the original cover doesn't address. Most factory differential covers, including those on the E36, are cast from aluminum. However, due to the porous nature of cast aluminum, the mounting ears on these covers cannot withstand the intense shocks typical in motorsport or in vehicles with significantly increased power.

Upgrading to our Reinforced Billet Differential cover gives you the strength you need to push your car to its limits without worrying about snapping a diff mount from clutch kicking or other shocks to the drivetrain. In addition to its enhanced strength, this differential cover includes numerous other upgrades and conveniences. With this in mind, we set out to engineer a solution that elevates durability, thermal management, and fluid control to match the transmission’s world-class performance.

We've designed a permanent, high-performance replacement for the flawed OEM pan: a cast-aluminum, increased-capacity upgrade that enhances cooling and durability. Its all-aluminum construction provides a significant upgrade over the OE plastic pan, which is prone to cracking when impacted by road debris. Engineered for those who demand more from their vehicle, our design increases fluid capacity to promote superior cooling and help maintain optimal transmission temperatures, even in the most demanding conditions.

To ensure a leak-free seal, we engineered a heavy-duty Viton gasket specific to their transmission pan design. Crafted from 4GA (4.83mm) 5052 aluminum, our skid plate delivers a perfect balance of strength and weight savings. Unlike the fragile factory plastic belly pan, our design forms a protective barrier from the front bumper to the front subframe, shielding your oil cooler and other fragile componentry from unexpected impacts. Our engineers aimed to outperform the factory undertray design with laser-cut air channels that optimize airflow through the oil cooler. While located under the engine, the oil cooler receives its fresh airflow from the front air dam. Air flows through the lower front grille, into the oil cooler core, and out of the skid plate. The factory belly pan allows air to bypass the core, leading to inefficient cooling and mediocre airflow at speed. When we set out to build an exhaust for the BMW E46 323/328, we knew it needed to match how you drive and how you want your car to sound. We also know that while many drivers wish for an aggressive, head-turning exhaust note, they don’t always want the volume all the time. That’s why we engineered this lightweight Turner Motorsport performance exhaust system with a fully valved muffler, giving you the ability to switch between a refined, quiet tone and a loud, spirited sound at any moment.

Our new Turner Cat-Back Exhaust is the first valved rear section designed specifically for the E46 323/328. With the included remote controller, you can change your exhaust tone with a simple click. With the valve closed, the system delivers a smooth, deep, tasteful note for daily driving. Open the valve, and you unlock an aggressive, free-flowing exhaust tone that brings out the full character of the M52 engine, perfect for track days or anytime you want maximum sound and performance.

For maximum flow and durability, we built this system using dual 2.0" T304 stainless steel mid-pipes that bolt directly to your factory downpipes. Inside the mid-section, we integrated an X-pipe to balance exhaust pulses, reduce backpressure, increase performance, and smooth the exhaust note. The dual 2.0" mid-pipes merge into a 3.0" axle-back section and a full 3.0" valved muffler, finished with bold 3.0" integrated tips that perfectly fill the E46 rear bumper.

Modern performance cars use valved exhaust systems as standard equipment, but the E46 never truly benefited from that technology. Some early E46 models used a basic vacuum-controlled valve, but after nearly 20 years, most are no longer functional. By studying BMW’s original concept and improving it with modern engineering, we created a lightweight, high-performance valved exhaust that gives your BMW E46 323/328 modern sound control, better flow, and a dramatically enhanced driving experience.

By linking the rearmost subframe mounting points to the rear shock towers, downward flex is restricted, resulting in improved torque transfer and stability. Alternatively, high-grip cornering generates lateral acceleration (side-to-side) forces across the RACP. Similar to how a rear strut brace functions, connecting the rear shock towers helps to counteract these forces. Adding the subframe to this connection further reduces lateral loads, eliminating side-to-side flex and enhancing overall stability.

How It Works:

During performance driving, the Rear Axle Carrier Panel (RACP) must react the forces of longitudinal and lateral accelerations. During forward acceleration, the differential transmits torque through the subframe to the RACP, forcing the rearmost subframe mounting points downward. This downward movement flexes the carrier panel, reducing its ability to handle torque efficiently. By linking the rearmost subframe mounting points to the rear shock towers, downward flex is restricted, resulting in improved torque transfer and stability. Alternatively, high-grip cornering generates lateral acceleration (side-to-side) forces across the RACP. Similar to how a rear strut brace functions, connecting the rear shock towers helps to counteract these forces. Adding the subframe to this connection further reduces lateral loads, eliminating side-to-side flex and enhancing overall stability.
